Coach J's comments:
We ran into another very good D2 and had an unpleasant outcome. I thought we played pretty well to start the game but couldn't finish. Bethany threw pretty well and kept us in the game for awhile. They just have too many good hitters and they don't give away runs defensively. We played better in the field but again had trouble making good contact vs this type of quality pitching. We struck out nine times and that makes it difficult to produce runs. Getting our hits were Jess Howard, Jess Carson, and Sadie Riendeau. Nichole Peters drove in our only run on a bases loaded walk. Over all it was a decent weekend for us. I thought we played very well on Friday in both games. We will need to bring that kind of play for the weekend as we travel to Dawson for doubleheaders on Saturday and Sunday. The games were originally scheduled for Bottineau but it looks like it will be awhile before we will get any softball action at home.
