Coach J's comments:
We swung the bats a bit better and gave ourselves a couple of good chances to score, but came up short. We again gave a great hitting team too many extra outs. Some were recorded as errors, some were balls we didn't play that probably should have been played. Leading us in hitting was Jess Mehling with a double and a single. Also getting hits were Destiny Kaus, Jillian Hole, and Courtney Hart. We kind of felt this day was a game of putting our team back together after losing our center field Whitley Naismith to a broken ankle on Tuesday. I think we found some answers defensively as we had some very good outfield play from AliceAnn Sloan and Courtney Hart. Moving them to the outfield seemed to leave a void at first base but Emily Olafson really had a nice game defensively in that position. We have some tough opponents coming up in Dawson and NDSCS and we will need tighten up in the field and get more clutch at bats.
