Coach J's comments:

I thought we played a very solid all around ballgame.  Our pitching was great and we were sharp defensively.  Our 16 hits are the most we have had in a game so it certainly was a complete game.  Amanda Schmidt pitched an excellent game, facing only one batter over the minimum in the five innings.  She gave up one hit while striking out six and walking none.  Jess Mehling and AliceAnn Sloan led our hitting attack. Jess had three hits, including a home run and five runs batted in.  AliceAnn was a perfect four for four with three runs scored and two runs driven in.  Whitley Naismith and Sherry Chan each had two hits.  Sherry also drove in three runs.  Adding hits were Destiny Kaus, Karlee Brown, Maria Espindola, Jillian Hole, and Courtney Hart.

GAME 2                             R    H    E   LOB
Jacks         (11) 4 6 1 1      23  13   3      8
Mystics        0   0  0 2 0       2    1    3     4

Winning pitcher: Jillian Hole--Losing pitcher: Kyleigh Deacy

Coach J's comments:

The big first inning made for a comfortable game.  We were very patient at the plate, drawing 14 walks while still getting some good swings at the plate.  Jess Mehling had another big game going two for three with another home run and three runs knocked in.  Adding two hits were Whitley Naismith, Maria Espindola, AliceAnn Sloan, and Karalee Brown.  Destiny Kaus, Amanda Schmidt, and Courtney Hart also had hits.  Maria and Courtney each drove in three runners.  Destiny's hit was an inside the park home run and Courtney's was a triple.  Jillian Hole pitched extremely well giving up zero earned runs while limiting the Mystics to one hit.  She struck out five without allowing a walk.

GAME 3                         R   H   E   LOB
Jacks         0 1 7 5 2      15   11  4     4
Mystics      1 0 0 1 1       3    4    4     6

Winning pitcher: Jillian Hole--Losing pitcher: Natasha Alcock

Coach J's comments:

This was another solid game for us however we seemed to be a bit tired with the three games.  Jillian Hole and Amanda Schmidt again gave us a nice pitching performance.  Between the two they allowed zero earned runs, gave up four hits, and struck out seven.  Maria Espindola and Amanda Schmidt led us at the plate with two hits each.  Sherry Chan led us in runs batted in with two.  Also getting hits were Whitley Naismith, Jess Mehling, AliceAnn Sloan, Emily Olafson, Sherry Chan, Jillian Hole, and Courtney Hart.

Overall this was a great three game series for us.  I have been really impressed by our pitching all year and this was another good outing.  I am most pleased about the fact that Jillian and Amanda are not walking batters and making them hit their way on.  We gave up zero walks in the series.  If we can continue to do this and make plays in the field we will have a very successful season.  Our defense, particularly in the infield, may have played our best in our four seasons of existence.  At least for the first two games until we lost a bit our focus in the third.  We all hit the ball pretty well, especially Jess and AliceAnn.  Jess came into the series as the 6th leading hitter in the NJCAA Division III ranks, hitting over .600.  She went six for eleven with two home runs in the series.  AliceAnn went seven for eleven.  I really thought we played sharply, both defensively and offensively.  We hope to continue that more conference action continues.
