Coach J's comments:
This certainly was the biggest win of the year, and perhaps the program. We needed to get back on track after a tough week, especially with these region qualifying games against our rival the NDSCS Wildcats. I thought we put together our best effort of the year. Amanda Schmidt pitched an excellent game and our defense was solid behind her. Amanda only allowed two hits while striking out six. I was most impressed with our ability to take advantage of some Wildcat mistakes in the early innings. We failed to do that for much of the season but really came through with some clutch hits and aggressive base running today. AliceAnn Sloan had two hits including a big two run single in the first inning to really get us going. Maria Espindola came through with two hits and two runs batted in. Whitley Naismith scored three runs and had a three base hit. Destiny Kaus had our other hit. Overall it was very solid team effort and a satisfying victory.
